Our first event in 2009 was a great success and we are well under way with preparations for a bigger event this year.Pushing Print 2010 will be a vibrant and diverse event to excite, engage and inspire people, and is bought to you by local artists, business and residents working together.  It will showcase work from both local, national and international artists and printmakers at venues in the Old Town of Margate. Alongside the open exhibition there will be the Giant Print event, an exciting programme of talks by Jim Anderson, Jason Hicklin and Adam Bridgland and also a programme of workshops.

Margate has a long association with print and printmaking; Turner was an accomplished printmaker. During the production of his famous print series Liber Studorium 1809 – 1819 he produced an etching entitled ‘Margate, Kent’. Tracey Emin also renowned as a printmaker has produced a vast catalogue of prints. In the commercial print world, Margate has played host to one of the oldest print houses in the UK – Eyre and Spottiswoode, now Thanet Press.
